A 130-acre wildfire, named the Daytona Pines Fire by the Florida Forest Service, broke out in Ormond Beach Thursday afternoon, requiring multiple units from Daytona Beach Fire Department, Ormond Beach Fire Department, and Florida Forest Service’s Bunnell District to extinguish the flames near Clyde Morris and Hand Avenue.

The blaze took several hours to contain, with reports of 100 percent containment around midnight. Thankfully, there were no structures in the vicinity endangered during the fire.

In a Facebook post shared by the City of Ormond Beach, smoke will be visible to residents and motorists in the area for up to a week after the fire. Law Enforcement will continue to monitor roadways for smoke impacts.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation at this time.
