Ormond Beach Police Department is investigating a traffic crash on Saturday that resulted in the death of a 13-year-old Brooksville boy.

Just before 3:30 p.m. Saturday, a white 2002 Kia, driven by Phillip Colbert of Ormond Beach, was making a left turn into an apartment complex off of North Nova Road. Before Colbert could complete the turn, his Kia was struck from the back by a Black Harley-Davidson, which was driven by Robert M. Penny from Brooksville, Florida.

Penny had 13-year-old, Robert A. Penny, riding as the rear passenger on the motorcycle when it struck the passenger car.

13-year-old Robert Penny died at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash, while the Older Penny suffered severe injuries and was transported to the hospital via ambulance.

The investigation is still on-going, and more information will be released as it is found.
