Volusia County Libraries to Open Full Time.

In 2020 Libraries in the Volusia County Library System shut down because of COVID-19. They reopened back in May of 2020 with limited hours, and throughout the pandemic, scheduled virtual story-times, and some closed down their book shops to comply with CDC guidelines.

As of Wednesday, officials announced Volusia County Libraries will return to their regular schedules as of June 1st. Readers will once again be able to browse the shelves until 7 p.m. in some places.

Word on whether in-house story-times will return has not yet been announced.

Regional libraries (Daytona Beach, DeLand, Deltona, New Smyrna, Ormond Beach, and Port Orange) will be open Monday to Thursday 9 a.m. - 7 p.m., Friday and Saturday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., and Sunday 12 p.m. - 5 p.m.

Hope Place and John H. Dickerson Heritage will be open Monday and Wednesday 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday 10 a.m. - 7 p.m., Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., closed on Sunday.

Lake Helen, Oak Hill, Orange City, and Pierson will be open Monday and Wednesday through Friday 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. - 5 p.m., Tuesday 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. - 7 p.m., closed on the weekend.
