Motorcycle Crash in Ormond Beach Yesterday, Claims Life of Passenger.

Monday Afternoon, Ormond Beach Police Department responded to a single motorcycle crash off of US 1 in Ormond Beach.

The operator of the motorcycle, Mark Vancil of Lake City, SC, was attempting to slow the bike down at a rapid pace but caused the back end of the bike to sway from side-to-side. Mandee Vancil, Mark’s wife, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown from the vehicle and sustained a severe head injury. Both Mark and Mandee were transported to a local hospital.

Mark’s injuries were classified as non-life-threatening, but Mandee ended up passing away from her injuries earlier this morning.
